It is back in the 19th century that Sheffield grew as an industrial centre. Old buildings once used to house cutlery works or other factory business are now used for more delicate guests. They often house galleries, shops and artists studios, there’s the Botanical Gardens too where you can relax and unwind. The hillsides where there for the Victorians as a place of escape from the furnaces and smoke, and you can still escape uphill to hear the birds and relax for a while before entering the city once more.

The theatre is definitely recommended, and you’ll find there’s plenty of choice from the Lyceum, Crucible and Studio Theatres. These three are within easy reach of each other in Tudor Square in the centre of the city. There’s a wide range of performances on at these theatres, so there’s plenty of choice, with dance, drama and comedy.

A Museum That Tells You All You Need To Know

Finally, The Kelham Island will intrigue you with its industrial manmade island. It’s nearly a 1,000-year-old, and is an industrial museum with scientific and industrial documentation giving a wonderful overview of its history. There’s all sorts here, such as 19th century steam engines, photograph collections and reconstructed workshops.
